January 1st 1944 At the Empress Ballroom at North End Junction you could dance to Jimmy Harris and his band with vocalist Gerry Leach.
January 29th Jimmy Harris and his band with Gerry Leach, late of Oscar Rabin's band, at the Angerstein Hall Monday and Wednesday for 1/6d and Saturday 2/-.

September 24th Matron and nurses from the Royal Hospital were entertained at the Royal Beach Hotel by local artistes and Jimmy Harris and his band.
December 28th At the Petersfield Town hall, music from Jimmy Harris' Dance Orchestra.

1946
January 5th, Saturday, Jimmy Harris and his Band play at the Royal Beach Hotel.
March 2nd, Saturday, Jimmy Harris and his Dance Orchestra broadcast on the BBC from the Oddfellow's Hall, Kingston Road.
April 13th, Saturday, Jimmy Harris and his Band, with guest artistes Rita Williams from Variety Band Box, at the Oddfellows Hall broadcast to the nation.
May 11th, Grand Inauguration Ball at the Eastney Barracks with Jimmy Harris and his Band.

1947
January 1st Jimmy Harris and his Broadcasting band play nightly, Mon to Sat plus Wed and Sat matinees, at the Oddfellows Hall
February 28th Kingston Ballroom(Oddfellows) re-opens with Jimmy Harris and his Broadcasting Band and vocalist Terry Devon and Portsmouth's own vocalist late of the Coconut Grove, Pat O'Regan.
March 12th The Portsmouth Trades Council Annual ball at South Parade Pier, with, Jimmie Harris and his Broadcasting Orchestra, Wally Fry and his Collegians, Brian and Golden Melody Band, David Channon and his Orchestra, tickets 5/-d.
April 1st Jimmy Harris and his band at the Oddfellows Hall on a BBC broadcast.
April 3rd At the Kingston Ballroom, Dick James, late of Geraldos Orchestra plus Jimmy Harris and his Broadcasting Band.
April 16th At the Kingston Ballroom, vocalist Sally Douglas, late of Geraldo and his Orchestra, appears with Jimmy Harris and his Broadcasting Band.
May 12th Block ad in the Evening News, Jimmy Harris is now taking pupils for pianoforte theory, Riverton, 7 Cavendish Road Southsea.

1948
January 15th Jimmy Harris and his Broadcasting Band play at Petersfield Town Hall.
August 27th At the Victory Co-op Hall Fratton Road, dancing to Jimmy Harris's Quartette.

1949
February 7th Jimmy Harris becomes Musical Director at Kimbells Osborne Road and his Dance Orchestra will play at evening functions. His trio with Jimmy Harris at the piano will play for morning coffees and afternoon teas.
February At Kimbells Osborne Road, the Portsdown Archery Club have Jimmy Harris and his Orchestra to play for dancing.
March 12th Jimmy Harris and his Band play at Kimbells Osborne Road.
April 13th Kimbells Clifton Rooms are closed for 10 weeks but there will be dancing in the restaurant to Jimmy Harris and his Orchestra.

1950
December 2nd Saturday, Jimmy Harris and his Orchestra play at Kimbells, Osborne Road.

May 21st Jimmy Harris and his Band play at the Savoy Ballroom.
June 12th Jimmy Harris and his Band play at the Savoy Ballroom.

July 12th Jimmy Harris and his Orchestra play at the Savoy Ballroom.
July 26th Jimmy Harris and his Orchestra play at the Savoy Ballroom.
August 2nd Jimmy Harris and his Orchestra play at the Savoy Ballroom.
November 24th Band leader, Jimmy Harris plays the Grand piano at the Harvest Home Lounge in Copnor Road, and will do so each evening.

It is believed that Jimmy Harris spent his later days living at 14 St Davids Road Southsea and was born in 1900 James George Harius in London and died in Portsmouth in 1982.
