There was also ‘beat’ every Monday at Southsea’s Co-op Hall with guests like Frank Kelly & the Crestas, Johnny Rocco and the Paramounts and similar fare at the Savoy on a Tuesday with Robb Storme & the Whispers.

The Co-op Hall reintroduced groups with Frank Kelly & the Hunters fresh from touring with Marty Wilde.
September, Southsea’s Co-op Hall offered “Rock & Twist” on Monday nights with Danny Storm & the Strollers, then Screaming Lord Sutch & the Savages.

January,“Old Time Dancing” on Fridays at the Co-op Hall in Albert Road.
July, Screaming Lord Sutch arrived late at Southsea’s Co-op Hall – covered by Ritchie Peters and the For-Tunes.
August, Despite the beat boom there were still a number of venues advertising old time dancing including Southsea’s Co-Op Hall.

JM Inns, Johnny Miller added the Wedgewood Rooms to his collection of pubs, bars and hotels, including Kimbells, The Pickwick and the Bosham Inn in the mid 1970's. These ads are from 1986.
