GERARD KENNY at The Village Hall, Hartfield, East Sussex. 31st March 2006.

Part One
There'll always be a Hartfield
Melody man
If you were the only girl in the world
Bye Bye Blackbird
Where or when
(his mobile phone rings)
Postman Pat
As time goes by
Jazz Crazy
What are you doing the rest of your life
I could be so good for you
All that jazz
tears on my pillow
I should have realised
Could it me magic
Can't smile without you
part two
Piano man
Our love is here to stay
Just the way you are
Too old
The second time around
Waiting for the sunrise
Tie a yellow ribbon
Misty
Ragtime
I write the songs
New York New York
What I say
Georgia
I finally got right
I'm still standing
I'll be seeing you
Smile.

Gerard appeared in his adopted home village, for this event to raise money to repair the roof of the 'bijou' Harfield Village Hall. Fortuneately for the more than 100 audience shoe horned into it, the roof remained intact for the entire evening.
As you might expect, the village hall did not have Steinway, or Yamaha piano for Gerard to play, so he supplied a Korg electronic keyboard, which sounded even better that the Steinway!
Gerard, in fine form and voice, roused the villagers throughout the evening with a selection of favourites and many surprises, including songs, Piano Man and There'll always be a Hartfield, with re-written lyrics.
Gerard has been a Hartfield resident for some years, and seemed to know everyone, and mentioned the names of almost all of them, throughout the evening. During his first set, his mobile rang, but he switched it off and continued playing(like a trooper!). The audience applauded loudly, but sadly it all ended at about 10pm. A great night, can't wait for the next, but I'll have too!
