As you might expect, the village hall did not have Steinway, or Yamaha piano for Gerard to play, so he supplied a Korg electronic keyboard, which sounded even better that the Steinway! Gerard, in fine form and voice, roused the villagers throughout the evening with a selection of favourites and many surprises, including songs, Piano Man and There'll always be a Hartfield, with re-written lyrics. Gerard has been a Hartfield resident for some years, and seemed to know everyone, and mentioned the names of almost all of them, throughout the evening. During his first set, his mobile rang, but he switched it off and continued playing(like a trooper!). The audience applauded loudly, but sadly it all ended at about 10pm. A great night, can't wait for the next, but I'll have too!
