My Musical Tastes??? !!!

This page is dedicated to all the many singers and songwriters who have
influenced my musical career and my life, Thank you!

For many years I have been a professional musician, keyboardist/singer, gigging around the UK, doing one night stands, summer seasons, overseas trips, playing in strip joints, gay clubs, and British Legions anywhere, in groups, trios, duos and in recent years as a solo, playing a General Music WX2 keyboard, but having now moved on the General Music WK4 and now in 2001 I have upgraded to the WK8. Musically I play anything from a waltz and quickstep to a few pops (anything to earn a buck!), but these days mainly at clubs around the Portsmouth area,(but distance is no object!!!) preferring the 50 plus years age group.(they don't wear me out so quickly!!)

My musical interests and tastes are extremely varied, anything from 1950's Rock'n'roll to some very modern singers, but in particular people like Little Richard, Chuck Berry, plus Country music, Brad Paisley, John Michael Montgomery, Country rock, the Crickets, vocal/harmony Doo-wop groups,...including Coasters, Clovers, Robins, Shep & Limelites, Four Freshmen, Beach Boys, Chordettes, Elegants, Silhouettes, Fleetwoods and Dr. John. and jazz, the Stan Kenton Band and the Ted Heath Band, not forgetting a dash of Jimmy Smith.
And as for songwriters??, the songs of Leiber & Stoller, Goffin & King, and the Brill Building writers, and Felice and Boudleaux Bryant, etc. Not forgetting such songwriting greats as Cole Porter and so many others. I still buy the occasional vinyl record!!!
